2005 Minority Grant Program

 

AAUP offers grants to minority staff of AAUP member presses. Selected recipients can attend the annual meeting at no charge and can have up to $950 of their accommodation and travel expenses reimbursed.

A subcommittee of AAUP’s Board of Directors reviewed applications for the 2005 meeting, and the five recipients were selected. Grant reports from the following recipients are available:

Anitra Grisales, Editorial Assistant, Duke University Press
Sharon Torian, Editorial Assistant, Duke University Press
Mollika Basu, Acquisitions/Permissions Assistant, Wayne State University Press
Uwi Basaninyenzi, Publicity & Exhibits Coordinator, Brookings Institution Press

2005 Questia Grant Program

Questia Inc. generously donated funds for staff at small to mid-size presses (annual sales under $3 million) who had not attended an annual meeting in three years and would not otherwise have been financially able to attend the Philadelphia meeting.  

The board of directors reviewed applications, and the following individuals received grants:

Nancy Basmajian, Managing Editor, Ohio University Press
Amanda Sutton, Publicist, University of New Mexico Press
