The "Best of the Best" program is presented annually at the Summer ALA; University presses represent an often-undiscovered gold mine of resources for school and public libraries. Public and secondary school librarians who served on the 2006-07 selection committees will introduce recent titles they’ve found to be “the best” for a variety of reasons. Copies of the presented books will be raffled to those in attendance.
These recommendations and more can be found in the 17th Edition of the University Press Books Selected for Public and Secondary School Libraries, an annual collection development tool published by the AAUP. Accompanying the print edition, the entire bibliography, with ratings and reviews, is also freely available online at www.aaupnet.org/librarybooks.
